Q: What is an Epola/Hard Enamel/Cloisonne?
A:
There are many names for this type of pin but the main thing to remember is that the surface is smooth (the metal outlines are even with the color fills).

Q: What is a Soft Enamel?
A:
With this type of pin the metal outlines are raised slightly above the color fills and give the pin a textured feel and look.

Q: What is a Die Struck?
A:
Die Struck pins are completely metal with no color. Usually with raised polished features and recessed sandblasted areas to give contrast.

Q: What is Offset Printed?
A:
Sometimes pin artwork requires details and gradients that can't be produced on a traditional enamel pin. In this case the artwork is printed out like a postage stamp, affixed to a shaped metal plate and covered with a protective epoxy dome.
